கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் மனோவாவை நோக்கி: நீ என்னை இருக்கச் சொன்னாலும் நான் உன் உணவைப் புசியேன்; நீ சர்வாங்க தகனபலி இடவேண்டுமானால், அதை நீ கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்துவாயாக என்றார். அவர் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் என்று மனோவா அறியாதிருந்தான்.

கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் மனோவாவை நோக்கி: நீ என்னை இருக்கச் சொன்னாலும் நான் உன்னுடைய உணவை சாப்பிடமாட்டேன்; நீ சர்வாங்க தகனபலி செலுத்தவேண்டுமானால், அதை நீ கர்த்தருக்குச் செலுத்துவாயாக என்றார். அவர் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் என்று மனோவா அறியாதிருந்தான்.

கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் மனோவாவை நோக்கி, “நீங்கள் இருக்குமாறு கூறினாலும் உங்கள் உணவை உண்ணமாட்டேன். நீங்கள் ஏதேனும் தயாரிக்க விரும்பினால் கர்த்தருக்குத் தகனபலி கொடுங்கள்” என்றான். (மனோவா உண்மையிலேயே அவன் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் என்பதை அறியாதிருந்தான்.)

ஆண்டவரின் தூதர் மனோவாகிடம், “நீ என்னைக் காத்திருக்க வைத்தாலும், நான் உனது உணவை உண்ண மாட்டேன். நீ ஒரு எரி பலியைச் செலுத்துவதாக இருந்தால், அதை ஆண்டவருக்குச் செலுத்து” என்றார். ஏனெனில், மனோவாகு அவர் ஆண்டவரின் தூதர் என்பதை அறியவில்லை.⒫

And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.

And the angel of Jehovah said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread; and if thou wilt make ready a burnt-offering, thou must offer it unto Jehovah. For Manoah knew not that he was the angel of Jehovah.
