இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் சாபத்தீடானதிலே துரோகம்பண்ணினார்கள்; எப்படியெனில், யூதாகோத்திரத்துச் சேரானுடைய குமாரனான சப்தியின் மகன் கர்மீக்குப் பிறந்த ஆகான் என்பவன், சாபத்தீடானதிலே சிலதை எடுத்துக்கொண்டான்; ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர்மேல் கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் மூண்டது.

இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் சபிக்கப்பட்டவைகளினாலே துரோகம் செய்தார்கள்; எப்படியென்றால், யூதாகோத்திரத்தின் சேராகுடைய மகனாகிய சப்தியின் மகன் கர்மீக்குப் பிறந்த ஆகான் என்பவன், சபிக்கப்பட்டவைகளிலே சிலவற்றை எடுத்துக்கொண்டான்; ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களின்மீது கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் மூண்டது.

இஸ்ரவேலின் ஜனங்கள் தேவனுக்கு கீழ்ப்படியாமலிருந்தனர். சிம்ரி என்பவனின் பேரனும், கர்மீ என்பவனின் மகனுமாகிய யூதா கோத்திரத்தைச் சார்ந்த ஆகான் என்ற பெயருடைய ஒருவன் இருந்தான். அவன் அழிக்கப்பட வேண்டிய சில பொருட்களை எடுத்து வைத்திருந்தான். எனவே இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களிடம் கர்த்தர் மிகுந்த கோபமடைந்தார்.

இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் அழிவுக்குரியவைபற்றிய கட்டளையை மீறினார்கள். யூதா குலத்தைச் சார்ந்த செராகின் மகனாகிய சபதியின் மகன் கர்மிக்குப் பிறந்த ஆக்கான் என்பவன் அழிவுக்குரியவற்றிலிருந்து சிலவற்றைக் கவர்ந்து கொண்டான். இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் மீது ஆண்டவர் சினம் மூண்டது.⒫
