அதற்கு இயேசு: இன்னும் கொஞ்சக்காலம் ஒளி உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கும்; இருளில் நீங்கள் அகப்படாதபடிக்கு ஒளி உங்களோடிருக்கையில் நடவுங்கள்; இருளில் நடக்கிறவன் தான் போகிற இடம் இன்னதென்று அறியான்.

அதற்கு இயேசு: இன்னும் கொஞ்சக்காலம் ஒளி உங்களிடம் இருக்கும்; இருளில் நீங்கள் சிக்கிக்கொள்ளாதபடி ஒளி உங்களோடு இருக்கும்போது நடவுங்கள்; இருளில் நடக்கிறவன் தான் போகிற இடம் எங்கே என்று தெரியாமல் இருக்கிறான்.

பிறகு இயேசு, “இன்னும் சிறிது காலம் உங்களோடு ஒளி இருக்கும். எனவே, ஒளி இருக்கும்போதே நடந்துவிடுங்கள். அப்போதுதான் இருட்டாகிய பாவம் உங்களைப் பிடித்துக்கொள்ளாது. இருட்டிலே நடந்துபோகிறவனுக்குத் தான் எங்கே போகிறோம் என்பது தெரியாமல் இருக்கும்.

இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “இன்னும் சிறிது காலமே ஒளி உங்களோடு இருக்கும். இருள் உங்கள்மேல் வெற்றி கொள்ளாதவாறு ஒளி உங்களோடு இருக்கும்போதே நடந்து செல்லுங்கள். இருளில் நடப்பவர் எங்கே செல்கிறார் என்பது அவருக்குத் தெரியாது.
