நீங்கள் திரளாய் விதைத்தும் கொஞ்சமாய் அறுத்துக்கொண்டுவருகிறீர்கள்; நீங்கள் புசித்தும் திருப்தியாகவில்லை; குடித்தும் பரிபூரணமடையவில்லை; நீங்கள் வஸ்திரம் உடுத்தியும் ஒருவனுக்கும் குளிர்விடவில்லை; கூலியைச் சம்பாதிக்கிறவன் பொத்தலான பையிலே போடுகிறவனாய் அதைச் சம்பாதிக்கிறான்.

நீ ஏராளமான விதைகளை விதைத்தாய். ஆனால், நீ குறைந்த அளவு அறுவடையையே பெற்றாய். உன்னிடம் உண்ண உணவு இருக்கும். ஆனால் அதனால் வயிறு நிறையாது. உனக்குக் குடிக்கக் ஏதாவது இருக்கும். ஆனால் முழுமையாகக் குடிக்கப் போதாது. உன்னிடம் குறைந்த அளவு ஆடை அணிய இருக்கும், ஆனால் அவை குளிர்தாங்க உதவாது. நீ குறைந்த பணத்தைச் சம்பாதிப்பாய். ஆனால் உன் பணம் எங்கே போகிறது என்று உனக்குத் தெரியாது. உனது பையில் ஓட்டை விழுந்தது போல் இருக்கும்” என்றார்.
