எப்படியென்றால், அவர்களுடைய குமாரத்திகளிலே தங்களுக்கும் தங்கள்குமாரருக்கும் பெண்களைக் கொண்டார்கள்; இப்படியே பரிசுத்தவித்து தேசங்களின் ஜனங்களோடே கலந்துபோயிற்று; பிரபுக்களின் கையும், அதிகாரிகளின் கையும், இந்தக் குற்றத்தில் முந்தினதாயிருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.

எப்படியென்றால், அவர்களுடைய மகள்களிலே தங்களுக்கும் தங்கள் மகன்களுக்கும் பெண்களைத் திருமணம் செய்துகொண்டார்கள்; இப்படியே பரிசுத்த வித்து தேசங்களின் மக்களோடே கலந்துவிட்டது; பிரபுக்களின் கையும், அதிகாரிகளின் கையும், இந்தக் குற்றத்தில் முந்தினதாயிருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.

இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் எங்களைச் சுற்றியுள்ளவர்களை மணந்துக்கொண்டனர். இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் சிறப்புக்குரியவர்களாகக் கருதப்படத்தக்கவர்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் இப்போது தம்மோடு வாழும் மற்றவர்களோடு கலந்துவிட்டனர். இந்த வகையில் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களின் தலைவர்களும் முக்கிய அதிகாரிகளும் ஒரு மோசமான உதாரணமாக இருந்தனர்” என்றனர்.
