எசேக்கியேல் 19:14
அதின் கொடிகளிலுள்ள ஒரு கொப்பிலிருந்து அக்கினி புறப்பட்டு, அதின் கனியைப் பட்சித்தது; ஆளுகிற செங்கோலுக்கேற்ற பலத்த கொப்பு இனி அதில் இல்லையென்று சொல்; இதுவே புலம்பல், இதுவே புலம்பலாயிருக்கும் என்றான்.

அதின் கொடிகளிலுள்ள ஒரு கொப்பிலிருந்து நெருப்பு புறப்பட்டு, அதின் பழத்தைச் சுட்டெரித்தது; ஆளுகிற செங்கோலுக்கு ஏற்ற பலத்த கிளை இனி அதில் இல்லையென்று சொல்; இதுவே புலம்பல், இதுவே புலம்பலாக இருக்கும் என்றார்.

பெரிய கிளையிலிருந்து நெருப்பு பரவியது. அந்நெருப்பு அதன் கிளைகளையும் பழங்களையும் எரித்தது. எனவே இனிமேல் அதில் கைத்தடி இல்லை. அரசனின் செங்கோலும் இல்லை.’ இது மரணத்தைப்பற்றிய சோகப் பாடல். இது மரணத்தைப்பற்றிய துன்பப் பாடலாகப் பாடப்பட்டது.”

And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.

And fire is gone out of the rods of its branches, it hath devoured its fruit, so that there is in it no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.
