இதிலே ஒரு அடி நிலத்தையாகிலும் அவனுடைய கையாட்சிக்குக் கொடாமலிருக்கையில், அவனுக்குப் பிள்ளையில்லாதிருக்கும்போது: உனக்கும் உனக்குப் பின்வரும் உன் சந்ததிக்கும் இதைச் சுதந்தரமாகத் தருவேன் என்று அவனுக்கு வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணினார்.

இதிலே ஒரு அடி நிலத்தையாவது அவனுக்கு சொத்தாகக் கொடுக்காமல், அவனுக்குப் பிள்ளையில்லாதிருக்கும்போது: உனக்கும் உனக்குப் பின்வரும் உன் சந்ததிக்கும் இதை சொத்தாகத் தருவேன் என்று அவனுக்கு வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணினார்.

ஆனால் தேவன் ஆபிரகாமுக்கு இந்த நாட்டில் எதையும் கொடுக்கவில்லை. ஒரு அடி நிலம் கூடக் கொடுக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் அவர் குழந்தைகளுக்கும் எதிர்காலத்தில் இந்நாட்டைக் கொடுப்பதாக தேவன் வாக்களித்தார். (ஆபிரகாமுக்குக் குழந்தை இல்லாதிருந்தபோது இது நடந்தது)

இங்குக் கடவுள் அவருக்கு ஓர் அடி நிலம்கூட உரிமையாகக் கொடுக்கவில்லை. அவருக்குப் பிள்ளையே இல்லாதிருந்தும் இந்த நாட்டை அவருக்கும் அவருக்குப் பின் வரும் அவர் வழி மரபினருக்கும் உடைமையாகக் கொடுக்கப்போகிறேன் என்று கடவுள் வாக்குறுதி கொடுத்தார்.
