அப்பொழுது சேனாபதி கிட்டவந்து அவனைப் பிடித்து, இரண்டு சங்கிலிகளினாலே கட்டும்படி சொல்லி: இவன் யாரென்றும் என்ன செய்தான் என்றும் விசாரித்தான்.

பின்பு அவர்களில், சதுசேயர் ஒருபங்கும் பரிசேயர் ஒருபங்குமாயிருக்கிறார்களென்று பவுல் அறிந்து: சகோதரரே, நான் பரிசேயனுடைய மகனுமாயிருக்கிறேன் என்று சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னான்.

தேவன் நம்முடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு அருளிச்செய்த வாக்குத்தத்தம் நிறைவேறுமென்கிற நம்பிக்கைக்காகவே நான் இப்பொழுது நியாயத்தீர்ப்படைகிறவனாய் நிற்கிறேன்.

அந்தப்படியே நான் உடனே உம்மிடத்திற்கு ஆள் அனுப்பினேன்; நீர் வந்தது நல்ல காரியம்; தேவனாலே உமக்குக் கட்டளையிடப்பட்ட யாவையும் கேட்கும்படிக்கு நாங்கள் எல்லாரும் இப்பொழுது இங்கே தேவசமுகத்தில் கூடியிருக்கிறோம் என்றான்.

நீதிமான்களும் அநீதிமான்களுமாகிய மரித்தோர் உயிர்த்தெழுந்திருப்பது உண்டென்று இவர்கள் தேவனிடத்தில் நம்பிக்கைகொண்டிருக்கிறது போல, நானும் நம்பிக்கைகொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.

அரமனை யெங்குமுள்ளவர்களுக்கும் மற்ற யாவருக்கும் என் கட்டுகள் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள்ளான கட்டுகளென்று வெளியரங்கமாகி,

பவுலாகிய நான் என் கையினால் எழுதி, உங்களை வாழ்த்துகிறேன். நான் கட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிறதை நினைத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். கிருபை உங்களோடிருப்பதாக. ஆமென்.

நம்முடைய இரட்சகராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்து பிரசன்னமானதினாலே அந்தக்கிருபை இப்பொழுது வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டது; அவர் மரணத்தைப் பரிகரித்து, ஜீவனையும் அழியாமையையும் சுவிசேஷத்தினாலே வெளியரங்கமாக்கினார்.

ஆகையால், தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவர்கள் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினால் உண்டான இரட்சிப்பை நித்திய மகிமையோடே பெற்றுக்கொள்ளும்படி, சகலத்தையும் அவர்கள் நிமித்தமாகச் சகிக்கிறேன்.

என்னவென்றால், கட்டப்பட்டிருக்கையில் நான் பெற்ற என் மகனாகிய ஒநேசிமுக்காக உம்மை மன்றாடுகிறேன்.

சுவிசேஷத்தினிமித்தம் கட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிற எனக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்யும்படி உமக்குப் பதிலாக அவனை என்னிடத்தில் வைத்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டுமென்றிருந்தேன்.
