அந்தியோகியா, இக்கோனியா, லீஸ்திரா என்னும் பட்டணங்களில் எனக்கு உண்டான துன்பங்களையும் பாடுகளையும் நன்றாய் அறிந்திருக்கிறாய்; எவ்வளவோ துன்பங்களைச் சகித்தேன்; இவையெல்லாவற்றினின்றும் கர்த்தர் என்னை நீங்கலாக்கிவிட்டார்.

அப்பொழுது நான் அவர்களை மிகவும் கடிந்துகொண்டு, நீங்கள் மதில் அருகில் இரவு தங்குகிறது என்ன? நீங்கள் மறுபடியும் இப்படி செய்தால், உங்கள்மேல் கைவைப்பேன் என்று அவர்களோடே சொன்னேன்; அதுமுதல் அவர்கள் ஓய்வுநாளில் வராமலிருந்தார்கள்.

ஆனால் நான் அந்த வியாபாரிகளையும் விற்பனையாளர்களையும் எச்சரிக்கை செய்தேன். அவர்களிடம் நான், “இரவில் சுவருக்கு முன்னால் தங்க வேண்டாம். நீங்கள் மீண்டும் இவ்வாறு செய்தால் நான் உங்களைக் கைது செய்வேன்” என்று கூறினேன். எனவே அந்நாளிலிருந்து அவர்கள் ஓய்வு நாளில் தங்கள் பொருள்களை விற்க வருவதில்லை.
