அவர்கள் அதிகாலமே கிழக்கு வெளுக்கிற நேரத்தில் எழுந்திருந்தபோது, சாமுவேல் சவுலை மேல்வீட்டின் மேல் அழைத்து: நான் உன்னை அனுப்பிவிடும்படிக்கு ஆயத்தப்படு என்றான்; சவுல் ஆயத்தப்பட்டபோது, அவனும் சாமுவேலும் இருவருமாக வெளியே புறப்பட்டார்கள்.

அவர்கள் அதிகாலை கிழக்கு வெளுக்கிற நேரத்தில் எழுந்திருந்தபோது, சாமுவேல் சவுலை மேல்வீட்டின்மேல் அழைத்து: நான் உன்னை அனுப்பிவிடும்படி ஆயத்தப்படு என்றான்; சவுல் ஆயத்தப்பட்டபோது, அவனும் சாமுவேலும் இருவருமாக வெளியே புறப்பட்டார்கள்.

சவுல் அதில் உறங்கினான். மறுநாள், அதிகாலையில் சவுலை மேல் வீட்டிற்கு அழைத்தான். “எழு, நான் உன்னை உன் வழியிலே அனுப்புவேன்” என்றான். அவனும் தயார் ஆகி சாமுவேலோடு வீட்டைவிட்டு வெளியேறினான்.

அவர்கள் வைகறையில் துயில் எழுந்தனர். சாமுவேல் மாடியில் இருந்த சவுலை அழைத்து, “எழுந்திரு நான் உன்னை அனுப்பிவிடுகிறேன்” என்றார். சவுல் எழுந்தார். பின் அவரும் சாமுவேலும் இருவருமாக வெளியே சென்றனர்.
