அவன் தனக்குச் சாமுவேல் குறித்த காலத்தின்படி ஏழுநாள்மட்டும் காத்திருந்தான்; சாமுவேல் கில்காலுக்கு வரவில்லை, ஜனங்கள் அவனை விட்டுச் சிதறிப் போனார்கள்.

சாமுவேல் சவுலை கில்காலில் சந்திப்பதாகக் கூறியிருந்தான். சவுல் 7 நாட்கள் காத்திருந்தான். ஆனால், சாமுவேல் இன்னும் கில்காலுக்கு வரவில்லை, வீரர்கள் சவுலை விட்டு விலக ஆரம்பித்தனர்.
