அப்பொழுது பேலியாளின் மக்களாகிய இரண்டு பேர் வந்து, அவனுக்கு எதிராக உட்கார்ந்து: நாபோத் தேவனையும் ராஜாவையும் தூஷித்தான் என்று ஜனத்திற்கு முன்பாக அவன்மேல் சாட்சி சொன்னார்கள்; அதற்குப்பின்பு அவனைப் பட்டணத்திற்கு வெளியே கொண்டு போய், அவன் சாகும்படிக்கு அவனைக் கல்லெறிந்து,

அசீரியா ராஜா, பாபிலோனிலும், கூத்தாவிலும், ஆபாவிலும், ஆமாத்திலும், செப்பர்வாயிமிலும் இருந்து மனிதர்களை வரச்செய்து, அவர்களை இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்குப் பதிலாகச் சமாரியாவின் பட்டணங்களிலே குடியேற்றினான்; இவர்கள் சமாரியாவைச் சொந்தமாகக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு அதின் பட்டணங்களிலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

அசீரியாவின் அரசன் இஸ்ரவேலரை சமாரியாவிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றினான். பிறகு அவன் பாபிலோன், கூத்தா, ஆபா, ஆமாத், செப்பர்வாயிமிலும் ஆகிய நாடுகளிலிருந்து ஜனங்களை அங்கே குடியேற்றினான். அவர்கள் சமாரியாவிலும் அதைச் சுற்றியுள்ள இடங்களிலும் வாழ்ந்தனர்.
