அப்பொழுது ராஜாவாகிய தாவீது: எழுந்திருந்து காலுூன்றி நின்று: என் சகோதரரே, என் ஜனமே, நான் சொல்வதைக் கேளுங்கள்; கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியும் நமது தேவனுடைய பாதபடியும் தங்குவதற்கு ஒரு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்ட நான் என் மனதிலே நினைத்து, கட்டுகிறதற்கு ஆயத்தமும் பண்ணினேன்.

சர்வ சிங்காரத்தின் மேன்மையைக் குலைக்கவும், பூமியின் கனவான்கள் அனைவரையும் கனவீனப்படுத்தவும், சேனைகளின் கர்த்தரே இதை யோசித்துத் தீர்மானித்தார்.
