ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੋਬਾਬ ਮੰਨ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਅਰਂਭ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦਿਆਂ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨਾ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

70 ਵਡੇਰੇ ਆਗੂ ਉਹ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਗਏ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਦਰਸਾਈ। ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਲੋਕ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਮਾਸ ਕੌਣ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ?
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 1:6
“ਹੋਰੇਬ ਪਰਬਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ‘ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਲੰਮੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੀਕ ਇਸ ਪਰਬਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਹਿ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹੋਂ।
