ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ “ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ? ਇਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ?”

ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ “ਇਹ ਸਭ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ? ਇਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ?”
