Matthew 18:30
“ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਚਿਹਰੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੋਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਓਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਕਰਜਾ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਬੋਲ ਹਟਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਅਹਾਬ ਬੜਾ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੜਾ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਫ਼ਾੜ ਲੇ। ਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖਾਸ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾ ਲਏ ਤੇ ਖਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੜਾ ਉਦਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਸੀ।

ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿ ਕਿ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਇਹ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਨਾਲ ਆਉਣ ਤੀਕ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੁੱਖ ਰੋਟੀ ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੀ ਦੇਵੋ।”
