Genesis 37:36
ਮਿਦਿਯਾਨੀ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਾਰਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਪੋਟੀਫ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਮਿਦਿਯਾਨੀ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਏ, ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਖੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ 20 ਸਿੱਕਿਆਂ ਬਦਲੇ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਵਪਾਰੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਲੈ ਗਏ।

ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਨੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਦੋਵੇਂ ਕੈਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਰਹੇ।

ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਪਤਨੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਟੂਰਾਹ ਸੀ।

ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੋਟੀਫ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਖਰੀਦਿਆ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਲੈ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਾਰਦ ਦੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਪੋਟੀਫ਼ਰ ਹੱਥ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ 5 ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਜੋ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦਾ 19ਵਰ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ। ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੀ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦਾ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਸੀ।

ਦਾਅਵਤ ਦੇ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਮੈਅ ਕਾਰਣ ਮਗਨ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੱਤ ਖੁਸਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਇਹ ਸੱਤ ਖੁਸਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਸਨ ਮਹੂਮਾਨ, ਬਿਜ਼ਬਾ, ਹਰਬੋਨਾ, ਬਿਗਬਾ, ਅਬਗਬਾ, ਜ਼ੇਬਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਕਸ । ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖੁਸਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਰਾਣੀ ਵਸ਼ਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਮੁਕਟ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁੱਖ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਰਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਹੱਪਣ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਵੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸੀ।
ਯਸਈਆਹ 56:3
ਕੁਝ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜ ਲੈਣਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ।” ਇੱਕ ਖੁਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਸੁੱਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਲੱਕੜ ਵਰਗਾ ਹਾਂ।”
