Genesis 37:31
ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਕਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਕੋਟ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੱਕਰੇ ਦਾ ਖੂਨ ਮਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਿਰਧ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਕੋਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਕੋਟ ਲੰਮਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਸੀ।

ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੇ, ਉੱਨਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਆਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਮਿਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
