ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ, ਅਦੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਨ। ਅਦੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਨ।

ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਦੋਮ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ: ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਲਾ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਬਓਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਦਿਨਹਾਬਾਹ ਸੀ।
ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ 25:23
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੋ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਹਨ। ਦੋ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੱਖ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤਕੜਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਵੱਡਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਛੋਟੇ ਦੀ ਖਿਦਮਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ।”

ਅਦੋਮ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਘਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਕਾਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਕੇ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਵੱਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ: “ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਭਰਾ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ: ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੀ-ਕੀ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਝੱਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਗਿਣਤੀ 24:17
“ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਿਆ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਛੇਤੀ ਨਹੀ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਤਾਰਾ ਆਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਹਾਕਮ ਆਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਹਾਕਮ, ਮੋਆਬੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਭਂਨੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਹਾਕਮ, ਸੇਥ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਭੰਨ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 17:14
ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੈ “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰ ਲਵੋਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਰਹੋਂਗੇ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖੋਂਗੇ, ‘ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਥਾਪਾਂਗੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।’
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 33:5
ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਯਸ਼ੁਰੂਨ (ਇਸਰਾਏਲ) ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 33:29
ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਤੂੰ ਸੁਭਾਗਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਚਾਉ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਢਾਲ ਵਰਗਾ ਜੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਚਾਉ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਜਿਹਾ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਹੈ। ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਲਿਤਾੜ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”
