ਪਰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਸੁੱਕੋਥ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਲਈ ਛੋਟੇ ਬਾੜੇ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁੱਕੋਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਕੋਥ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਉ, ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਥੱਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਮਿਦਯਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਜ਼ਬਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਲਮੁੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।”

ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਕੋਥ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਨੂਏਲ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਨੇ ਪਨੂਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਭੋਜਨ ਮੰਗਿਆ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਕੋਥ ਦੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਪਨੂਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੁੱਕੋਥ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।

ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਮਾਰੂਥਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੰਡੇਦਾਰ ਝਾੜੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੁੱਟਿਆ।

ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਕੋਥ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜ ਲਿਆ। ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛੇ। ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਗਿਦਾਊਨ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਖੇ। ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਸੁੱਕੋਥ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਖੇ। ਉਸ ਨੇ 77 ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ।

ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵਰਤੇ ਗਏ ਕਾਂਸੇ ਦਾ ਵਜਨ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਇੰਨੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਸਦਾ ਵਜਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਸੰਭਵ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਸੱਕਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿੰਨਾਂ ਕਾਂਸਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਤੇ ਸੁੱਕੋਥ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਮੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਰਦਨ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਕਾਂਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਲ ਕੇ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਂਚਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਕੇ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ।
