ਲਾਬਾਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਸਦੇ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਠਹਿਰ ਜਾ।”

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇਹ ਮੈਂ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਕੁ ਚਿਰ ਕਰਾਂ?” ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤਬਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਕਰੋ। ਇਹੋ ਕਰੋ ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਬਚੇ। ਉਨਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਇਹੋ ਕਰੋ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਧਰਤੀ ਤਬਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਖਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ।”
