“ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਨੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ਦਿਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 16:11
ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾਉ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਚੁਣੇਗਾ। ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ, ਧੀਆਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ, ਲੇਵੀਆਂ, ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀਆਂ, ਯਤੀਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਜਾਉ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 32:13
ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੀ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਫ਼ਸਲਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚੱਟਾਨਾ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ, ਸਖਤ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਤੇਲ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ-ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੀਕ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ’ਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਨ, ਤਦ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਬਦਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਟਲੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਹਰ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਰੱਖੇਜ਼ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਾਣੀਆਂ ਖੁਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਦਕਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਟਲੇ।

ਇਹ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਉ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਲਾ ਮਾਲ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਗੁਮਾਨ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਮੀਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਸ ਰੱਖਣ, ਅਪਣੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ। ਦੌਲਤ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਮੀਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਭੋਗਣ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
