Deuteronomy 19:15
ਗਵਾਹ “ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਦਮੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਗਲਤੀ ਜਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਗਵਾਹ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦੋ ਜਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੋਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਂ ਦੋ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਓ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਵਾਪਰੇ, ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਹ ਦੋ ਜਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਣ।

“ਕਿਸੇ ਕਾਤਲ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਦੇਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੋਣ। ਜੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੀ।

ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਜਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਗਵਾਹੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਕਸੂਰਵਾਰ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੋ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇੱਕ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਲਜ਼ਾਮ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੁਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੇਕਰ ਦੋ ਜਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਬੰਦੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦੇਣ ਕਿ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਨੇ ਗਲਤ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਹੈ।
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 17:6
ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਜੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੀ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਬੁਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਦੋ ਜਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਗਵਾਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਰਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ 11:3
ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੋ ਗਵਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੋ ਸੌ ਸੱਠ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਕ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਉਹ ਤੱਪੜ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣਗੇ।”

ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਬਾਰੇ ਝੂਠੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਨਾ ਲੱਭ ਸੱਕੇ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਦੋ ਲੋਕ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ,

ਤਦ ਦੋ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਏ। ਤਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਬੋਥ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਨਾਬੋਥ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਰਵਚਨ ਕਹੇ ਹਨ। ਤਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੋ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਗਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸਤੇ ਪਥਰਾਓ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।
੧ ਸਲਾਤੀਨ 21:10
ਕੁਝ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕ ਚੁਣੇ ਜੋ ਨਾਬੋਥ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਅਫ਼ਵਾਹਾਂ ਫ਼ੈਲਾਉਣ ਤੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ। ਉਹ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਬੋਥ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਨਾਬੋਥ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੋ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਜਾਕੇ ਉਸਤੇ ਪਥਰਾਵ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣ।”
