ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਜ਼ਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉੱਥੇ 3,00,000 ਆਦਮੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ 30,000 ਆਦਮੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਸਨ।

ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਮ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੀ ਥਾਂ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰ ਲਈ। ਉੱਥੇ 4,00,000 ਤਲਵਾਰਧਾਰੀ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਸਨ।

ਇਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਮਿਕਮਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੜਾਈ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਬਾਕੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੇ ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਗਿਬਆਹ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲ ਪਿਆ। ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਬਚੀ ਸੀ ਉਸਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਹੁਣ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਕੇਵਲ 600 ਆਦਮੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਸਨ।

ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਤਲਾਇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉੱਥੇ 2,00,000 ਪੈਦਲ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਅਤੇ 10,000 ਹੋਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਨ।

ਇਉਂ ਯਹੋਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਟ ਦਿਨੋ-ਦਿਨ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਦਾਮ ਬਣਵਾਏ।
