ਭਲਾ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, “ਬਦਕਾਰੀ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਮਾਰੋ, ਚੋਰੀ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।” ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇੱਕੋ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਹਰ ਹਨ; “ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।”

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
