Proverbs 26 - ASV (Punjabi)

1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, So honor is not seemly for a fool.ਮੂਰੱਖਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਕਹਾਉਤਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰਫ਼ ਪੈਣੀ ਜਾਂ ਵਾਢੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਣਾ, ਇੰਝ ਹੀ ਮੂਰਖ ਲਈ ਆਦਰ ਅਨਉਚਿਤ ਹੈ।

2 As the sparrow in her wandering, as the swallow in her flying, So the curse that is causeless alighteth not.ਇੱਕ ਬੇਘਰ ਚਿੱੜੀ ਜਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਡਦੀ ਅਬਾਬੀਲ ਵਾਂਗ, ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਅਣਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਰਾਪ ਹੈ — ਇਹ ਅਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ।

3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, And a rod for the back of fools.ਕੋੜਾ ਘੋੜੇ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਲਗਾਮ ਗਧੇ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਂਤ ਮੂਰੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਿੱਠ ਲਈ ਹੈ।

4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, Lest thou also be like unto him.ਇਹ ਬੜੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਹੈ: ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮੂਰਖ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਮੂਰੱਖਤਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਰੱਖਤਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੀ ਜਾਪੋਂਗੇ; ਮੂਰਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਰੱਖਤਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇਵੋ, ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਸਮਝੇਗਾ।

5 Answer a fool according to his folly, Lest he be wise in his own conceit.

6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool Cutteth off `his own' feet, `and' drinketh in damage.ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਮੂਰਖ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਨਾ ਘੱਲੋ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰ ਕਟਾਉਣ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਾ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ।

7 The legs of the lame hang loose: So is a parable in the mouth of fools.ਮੂਰਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ’ਚ ਕਹਾਉਤ ਲੰਗੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਲੰਗ ਲੱਤ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਹੀ, ਬੇਕਾਰ ਹੈ।

8 As one that bindeth a stone in a sling, So is he that giveth honor to a fool.ਇੱਕ ਮੂਰਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇਣੀ ਗੁਲੇਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਥਰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

9 `As' a thorn that goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, So is a parable in the mouth of fools.ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੋਈ ਸਿਆਣੀ ਗੱਲ ਆਖਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਹਥੇਲੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਛਿਲਤਰ ਕੱਢਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੇ।

10 `As' an archer that woundeth all, So is he that hireth a fool and he that hireth them that pass by.ਕਿਸੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਜਨਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਮ ਤੇ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਖਤਰਨਾਕ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਿਸਦਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।

11 As a dog that returneth to his vomit, `So is' a fool that repeateth his folly.ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੁੱਤਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਲਟੀ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਇੰਝ ਹੀ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੂਰੱਖਤਾਈ ਦੁਹਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? There is more hope of a fool than of him.ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰੇ? ਉਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਮੂਰਖ ਲਈ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

13 The sluggard saith, There is a lion in the way; A lion is in the streets.ਆਲਸੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ “ਸੜਕ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਹੈ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਹੈ।”

14 `As' the door turneth upon its hinges, So doth the sluggard upon his bed.ਆਲਸੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਿਸਤਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਓਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਰਤਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਚੂਲ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਘੁੰਮਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਕਿਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।

15 The sluggard burieth his hand in the dish; It wearieth him to bring it again to his mouth.ਆਲਸੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੀ ਥਾਲੀ ਤਾਂਈ ਲਿਜਾਂਦਾ, ਪਰ ਉਸਦਾ ਆਲਸੀਪਨ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੂੰਹ ਤਾਈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਜਾਣ ਦਿੰਦਾ।

16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit Than seven men that can render a reason.ਆਲਸੀ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਚਤੁਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਦੱਸ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

17 He that passeth by, `and' vexeth himself with strife belonging not to him, Is `like' one that taketh a dog by the ears.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਖਲ ਦੇਵੇ ਉਸ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਦੇ ਕੰਨ ਖਿੱਚਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ।

18 As a madman who casteth firebrands, Arrows, and death,ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਕੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ,” ਉਹ ਉਸ ਮੂਰਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

19 So is the man that deceiveth his neighbor, And saith, Am not I in sport?

20 For lack of wood the fire goeth out; And where there is no whisperer, contention ceaseth.ਜੇ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਕੜਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤਾਂ ਅੱਗ ਬੁਝ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੁਗਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਝਗੜਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

21 `As' coals are to hot embers, and wood to fire, So is a contentious man to inflame strife.ਸੜਿਆ ਕੋਲਾ ਕੋਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਘਦਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਲੱਕੜੀ ਅੱਗ ਨੂੰ ਬਲਦਾ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਲੜਾਈ ਝਗੜ੍ਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।

22 The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts.ਚੁਗਲੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਸੁਆਦਾਲੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ’ਚ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਵਸ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

23 Fervent lips and a wicked heart Are `like' an earthen vessel overlaid with silver dross.ਬਦ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਵਕਤਤਾ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ, ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕਣ, ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ।

24 He that hateth dissembleth with his lips; But he layeth up deceit within him:ਇੱਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਮਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਘ੍ਰਿਣਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

25 When he speaketh fair, believe him not; For there are seven abominations in his heart:ਜੋ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਲੱਗਣ। ਪਰ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਉਸਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਘ੍ਰਿਣਿਤ ਵਿੱਚਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

26 Though `his' hatred cover itself with guile, His wickedness shall be openly showed before the assembly.ਚਲਾਕੀ ਕਰਕੇ, ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein; And he that rolleth a stone, it shall return upon him.ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਟੋਆ ਪੁਟਦੇ ਹੋਂ, ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਵੋ, ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੋੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹੋਂ, ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਇਹ ਮੁੜ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੇ ਰੁੜ੍ਹਕ ਜਾਵੇ।

28 A lying tongue hateth those whom it hath wounded; And a flattering mouth worketh ruin.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਚਾਪਲੂਸੀ ਕਰੇ ਉਹ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
