Proverbs 23
6 -8- ਕਿਸੇ ਖੁਦਗਰਜ਼ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਜਨ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੀਵ੍ਰ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
7 ਉਹ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਕੀਮਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖੇ, “ਖਾਓ, ਪੀਓ।” ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
8 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਲਟੀ ਕਰ ਦਿਉਂਗੇ, ਜੋ ਵੀ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਉਸਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖਾਧਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ, ਬੇਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.
