Proverbs 16 - ASV (Punjabi)

1 The plans of the heart belong to man; But the answer of the tongue is from Jehovah.ਆਦਮੀ ਦਾ ਦਿਮਾਗ਼ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਆਖਣਾ — ਇਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਗਾਤ ਹੈ।

2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; But Jehovah weigheth the spirits.ਬੰਦਾ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਸਹੀ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨੋਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

3 Commit thy works unto Jehovah, And thy purposes shall be established.ਆਪਣੇ ਹਰ ਕੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਪਰਤੋਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਾ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।

4 Jehovah hath made everything for its own end; Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਵਿੱਚ।

5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Jehovah: `Though' hand `join' in hand, he shall not be unpunished.ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਰ ਓਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਮਾਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

6 By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for; And by the fear of Jehovah men depart from evil.ਨਮਕਹਲਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰੀ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹਟਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਭੈ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਬਦ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

7 When a man's ways please Jehovah, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

8 Better is a little, with righteousness, Than great revenues with injustice.ਸਹੀ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਥੋੜਾ ਵੀ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਵੱਧ ਦੌਲਤ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ।

9 A man's heart deviseth his way; But Jehovah directeth his steps.ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਦਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦਾ।

10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king; His mouth shall not transgress in judgment.ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਬੁਲ੍ਹ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਧੋਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ।

11 A just balance and scales are Jehovah's; All the weights of the bag are his work.ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਤੋਂਲ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਡੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਭ (ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ) ਤੋਂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ।

12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness; For the throne is established by righteousness.ਜੇਕਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਤਿਰਸੱਕਾਰਪੂਰਨ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤਖਤ ਨੇਕੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਫ਼ੁਲਿਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; And they love him that speaketh right.ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਜੋ ਸਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ।

14 The wrath of a king is `as' messengers of death; But a wise man will pacify it.ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਕਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਵੀ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਿਆਣਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; And his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਹਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਲਈ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਬਸੰਤ ਦੀ ਵਰੱਖਾ ਦੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.ਸੋਨੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝਦਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲੋ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ।

17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਬਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਨਾਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਾਵੱਧਾਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਰੂਹ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

18 Pride `goeth' before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.ਘਮੰਡ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਵੱਲ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਗਰੂਰ ਰਵੱਈਆਂ ਪਤਨ ਵੱਲ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

19 Better it is to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, Than to divide the spoil with the proud.ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਮ੍ਰ ਹੋਣਾ, ਹੰਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਲੁੱਟ ਦੇ ਮਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਹੈ।

20 He that giveth heed unto the word shall find good; And whoso trusteth in Jehovah, happy is he.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਗਤੀਸ਼ੀਲ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰੇ ਧੰਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent; And the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਸਿਆਣਪਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੋਚੇ ਦੂਰਦਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੂਝਵਾਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮਨਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਮਈ ਹੈ।

22 Understanding is a well-spring of life unto him that hath it; But the correction of fools is `their' folly.ਚੰਗੀ ਸੂਝ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਝਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਕਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਬੇਵਕੂਫ਼ੀ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

23 The heart of the wise instructeth his mouth, And addeth learning to his lips.ਸਿਆਣੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਮਈ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

24 Pleasant words are `as' a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਵਾਂਗ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਿਮਾਗ਼ ਲਈ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਲਈ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

25 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, But the end thereof are the ways of death.ਇੱਕ ਐਸਾ ਰਾਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਰਾਹ ਮੌਤ ਵੱਲ ਹੈ।

26 The appetite of the laboring man laboreth for him; For his mouth urgeth him `thereto'.ਕਾਮੇ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਰੇ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

27 A worthless man deviseth mischief; And in his lips there is as a scorching fire.ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਜ ਧ੍ਰੋਹੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਉਸ ਅੱਗ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

28 A perverse man scattereth abroad strife; And a whisperer separateth chief friends.ਇੱਕ ਹਿੰਸੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਫ਼ਹਿਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਗੱਪ ਫ਼ੈਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਡ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

29 A man of violence enticeth his neighbor, And leadeth him in a way that is not good.ਇੱਕ ਹਿੰਸੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਜੋ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ।

30 He that shutteth his eyes, `it is' to devise perverse things: He that compresseth his lips bringeth evil to pass.ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਝਪਕਦਾ, ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਵਿਉਂਤਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇ ਚੂੰਡੀਆਂ ਵੱਢਦਾ ਬਦੀ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ।

31 The hoary head is a crown of glory; It shall be found in the way of righteousness.ਧੌਲੇ ਵਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਦਾ ਤਾਜ ਹਨ, ਇਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; And he that ruleth his spirit, than he that taketh a city.ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਧੀਰਜਵਾਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਹੈ। ਪੂਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਪਾਉਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਹੈ।

33 The lot is cast into the lap; But the whole disposing thereof is of Jehovah.ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਲੋਕ ਗੁਣੇ ਪਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਤਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵਲੋਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
