Proverbs 1:1-7 in Punjabi

1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

1 ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਇਹ ਕਹਾਉਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਗਈਆ ਹਨ। ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੀ।
The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

2 ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲਿਖੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੱਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝਦਾਰੀ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਸੱਕੇ।
To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

3 ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਹੀ ਮੱਤ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ — ਉਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰੇ ਜੋ ਧਰਮੀ, ਨਿਆਂਈ ਅਤੇ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਹੋਵੇ।
To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4 ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਮੂਰਖ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਵਾਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਲਮੰਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹਨ।
To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5 ਸਿਆਣੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਵੱਧਾਉਣ ਦਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਨ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਦਿਓ।

6 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਕਹਾਉਤਾਂ, ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤਾਂ, ਸਿਆਣੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਵਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁਝਾਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਣਗੇ।

7 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਨਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਬੁਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
