Proverbs 28 - ASV (Punjabi)

1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth; But the righteous are bold as a lion.ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਪਰ ਧਰਮੀ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੌਸਲੇਮੰਦ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

2 For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof; But by men of understanding `and' knowledge the state `thereof' shall be prolonged.ਜਦੋਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਹੀਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਸ਼ਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਲਦੀ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜੋ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਝਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਇੱਕ ਅੱਡੋਲ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

3 A needy man that oppresseth the poor Is `like' a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਸ ਸਖਤ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਫ਼ਸਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked; But such as keep the law contend with them.ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, ਬਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

5 Evil men understand not justice; But they that seek Jehovah understand all things.ਬੁਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਿਰਪੱਖਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੇ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਨ।

6 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, Than he that is perverse in `his' ways, though he be rich.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਗਰੀਬ, ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਅਮੀਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਟੇਢੇ-ਮੇਢੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

7 Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son; But he that is a companion of gluttons shameth his father.ਸੂਝਵਾਨ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇਮ ਤੇ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ ਕਰਦਾ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

8 He that augmenteth his substance by interest and increase, Gathereth it for him that hath pity on the poor.ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਖਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਵਿਆਜ ਦੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਦਰ ਵਸੂਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਗੁਆ ਬੈਠੋਗੇ। ਇਹ ਉਸ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੇਮ ਤੋਂ ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਾਨਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਘ੍ਰਿਣਿਤ ਹਨ।

10 Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, He shall fall himself into his own pit; But the perfect shall inherit good.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ, ਚੰਗਾ ਵਿਰਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

11 The rich man is wise in his own conceit; But the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.ਅਮੀਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ, ਪਰ ਗਰੀਬ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਉਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵੇਖ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

12 When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; But when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.ਜਦੋਂ ਧਰਮੀ ਲੋਕ ਜਿੱਤਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਛੁਪਣਗਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

13 He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper: But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੇ, ਉੱਨਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਆਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਮਿਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

14 Happy is the man that feareth alway; But he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇੱਜਤਦਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਠੋਰ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ।

15 `As' a roaring lion, and a ranging bear, `So is' a wicked ruler over a poor people.ਇੱਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਕੌਮ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨਾ, ਗਰਜਦੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਜਾਂ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਿੱਛ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

16 The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor; `But' he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.ਜਿਸ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਕੋਲ ਸਮਝਦਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਉਹ ਅੱਤਿਆਚਰੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਦੌਲਤ ਬਦ-ਕਰਮਾਂ ਰਾਹੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਹੁਤ ਚਿਰ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

17 A man that is laden with the blood of any person Shall flee unto the pit; let no man stay him.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ, ਕਤਲ ਕਰਨ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਝੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਮਰਨ ਤੀਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।

18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be delivered; But he that is perverse in `his' ways shall fall at once.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਟੇਢੇ-ਮੇਢੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਡਿੱਗ ਪੈਣਗੇ।

19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread; But he that followeth after vain `persons' shall have poverty enough.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰੀ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਸੱਕੀਮਾਂ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਭੱਜੇ ਉਹ ਗਰੀਬ ਹੀ ਰਹੇਗਾ।

20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings; But he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be unpunished.ਇੱਕ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਮੀਰ ਬਨਣ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਲਦੀ ਕਰੇ, ਸਜ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ।

21 To have respect of persons is not good; Neither that a man should transgress for a piece of bread.ਪੱਖਪਾਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਖਾਤਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਉਹ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਹੈ।

22 he that hath an evil eye hasteth after riches, And knoweth not that want shall come upon him.ਇੱਕ ਕਿਰਸੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਦੌਲਤ ਸਮੇਟਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੋਚਦਾ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਗਰੀਬੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

23 He that rebuketh a man shall afterward find more favor Than he that flattereth with the tongue.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਉੱਕੀਆਂ ਫੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression, The same is the companion of a destroyer.ਉਹ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਚੁਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਦਾ, “ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਨਹੀਂ!” ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਂਝੀਦਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।

25 He that is of a greedy spirit stirreth up strife; But he that putteth his trust in Jehovah shall be made fat.ਲਾਲਚੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਦਲੀਲਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਣਾ, ਉੱਨਤੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool; But whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਿਆਣਪਤਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਹੈ।

27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; But he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਮਿਲਣਗੀਆਂ।

28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; But when they perish, the righteous increase.ਜਦੋਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਲੋਕੀਂ ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਦੋਂ ਧਰਮੀ ਲੋਕ ਉੱਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
