ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ, ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਇੱਕ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਿਦਯਾਨੀ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾ ਲਈ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਆਗੂ ਦੇਖ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਸਨ। ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਗੂ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
