Nehemiah 13:10
ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੇਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਵਈਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਮੁੜ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।

“ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਚੋ ਠੱਗਣਾ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਚੋ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁਰਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਠੱਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ। “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਭਲਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀ ਚੁਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ?’ “ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਖਾਸ ਤੋਹਫ਼ੇ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

“ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਰਾਂਕਾ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਨਹਮਿਆਹ 12:28
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਵਈਏ ਵ੍ਵੀ ਆਏ ਜੋ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਨਟੋਫ਼ਾਬ ਦੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ, ਬੈਤ-ਗਿਲਗਾਲ, ਗ਼ਬਾ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਜ਼ਮਾਵਬ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕਤਰ ਹੋਏ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਵਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੁਦ ਦੇ ਪਿਂਡ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਰਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਜ਼ਰੁੱਬਾਬਲ ਅਤੇ ਨਹਮਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਗਵਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਬਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਚਂਦੇ ਅੱਡ ਰੱਖੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਂਦੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਅੱਡ ਰੱਖੇ।

ਲੋਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਬੱਚੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਿਕ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਾਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ? ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਭਲਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ? ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਜਕੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਾਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ।” ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਉਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ?”

ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਚੰਗੇ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗੀ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਡੇਰੇ ਬੋਲ ਚਾਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਯੋਗੀ ਹਨ।
