Matthew 20:17
ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਣਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਯਰੂਸਲਮ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੇਲੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਨ। ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਥ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਾਂਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ।

ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਮਗਰ ਤੁਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਡਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਲਿਆਂ ਬੁਲਾਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੌਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲ ਦੱਸ ਦੇਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ?

ਯਿਸੂ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਜੀਅ ਉੱਠੇਗਾ ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸੁਣੋ! ਅਸੀਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜੋ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।

ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਵੇਸ਼ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉੱਥੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਤੇ ਆਏ ਸਨ।

ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਹੋਰ ਨੌਕਰ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੁਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਦਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਬੁਲਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਦੱਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਗਟ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗਵਾਹ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੋਏ। ਅਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਗਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਮੁਰਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਵਾਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਬੈਠਕੇ ਖਾਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੀਤਾ।
