Luke 23:46
ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ, “ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ! ਮੈਂ ਅਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪਦਾ ਹਾਂ।” ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਯਿਸੂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ-ਹੀਣ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲੀਆਂ। ਮਸੀਹ ਨੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਹਾਰੇ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਧਮਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਨਹੀਂ, ਮਸੀਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਹੀ ਨਿਆਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਤਿੰਨ ਕੁ ਵਜੇ, ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੀਕਿਆ, “ਏਲੋਈ ਏਲੋਈ ਲਮਾ ਸਬਕਤਾਨੀ।” ਜਿਸਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ?”

ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਜੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ, “ਏਲੀ-ਏਲੀ ਲਮਾ ਸਬਕਤਾਨੀ?” ਇਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਸੀ, “ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ?”
