ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਯਹੂਦਾ। ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਮਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਚੁੰਮਣ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਫ਼ੜਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ?”

ਯਹੂਦਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ: “ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਚੁੰਮਾਂ ਉਹੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਣਾ।”

ਯਹੂਦਾ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਿ ਕੌਣ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੈ, ਵਿਉਂਤ ਬਣਾਈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਿਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਚੁੰਮਾਂ, ਉਹੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਣਾ।”
