ਲੋਕਾ 20

1 ਪਰਤਾਵੇ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ, ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਬਾਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਏ।

2 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ? ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ? ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ?”

3 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਵਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

4 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ; ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਕੀ ਸੁਰਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ ਜਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ?”

5 ਜਾਜਕਾਂ, ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ, ਸਭ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ‘ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਖੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਫਿਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ?’

6 ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ, ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।’ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਇੱਕ ਨਬੀ ਸੀ।”

7 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।”

8 ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ?”

9 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ: “ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ ਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਕੇ ਤੇ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

10 ਸਮਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਰੁੱਤ ਸਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਦੇਣ। ਪਰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

11 ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੁਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੱਥੀ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

12 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਤੀਜਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

13 “ਉਸ ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂ? ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਾਂਗਾ। ਇਹ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇਣਗੇ!’

14 ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, ‘ਇਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਦਾ ਵਾਰਸ ਹੈ, ਆਓ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ ਸਾਡਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।’

15 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। “ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਕੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ?

16 ਉਹ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਕੇ ਤੇ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।” ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਰੱਬ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ।”

17 ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਝਾਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸ ਲਿਖਤ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ: ‘ਜਿਸ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹ ਖੂੰਜੇ ਦਾ ਪੱਥਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।’

18 ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਪੱਥਰ ਤੇ ਡਿੱਗੇਗਾ ਟੁਕੜੇ-ਟੁਕੜੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਡਿੱਗੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਕੁਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

19 ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਫੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਖਬਰੇ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਗੇ?

20 ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਲ ਖੇਡੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੀ ਤਾਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਕੁਝ ਜਸੂਸ ਭੇਜੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਨਾਟਕ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਲੱਭਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੀ ਸੌਂਪ ਸੱਕਣ, ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਸੀ।

21 ਤਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਉਹ ਸਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਤਰਫ਼ਦਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ।

22 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕੈਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਸੂਲ ਦੇਣਾ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗਲਤ?”

23 ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ,

24 “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਕਾ ਦਿਖਾਵੋ? ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਹੈ?” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਕੈਸਰ ਦੀ ਹੈ।”

25 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਜੋ ਕੈਸਰ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਕੈਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੋ।”

26 ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇੰਨੇ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਜਵਾਬ ਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਆਖ ਸੱਕੇ। ਉਹ ਭੀੜ ਅੱਗੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਲੱਭਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਮਰਥ ਸਨ।

27 ਕੁਝ ਸਦੂਕੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਲ ਖੇਡੀ ਕੁਝ ਸਦੂਕੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਉਹ ਇਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਿ ਪੁਨਰ ਉੱਥਾਨ ਹੈ।

28 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਮਰਦ ਬਿਨ ਔਲਾਦ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਭਰਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ।

29 ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਸੱਤ ਭਰਾ ਸਨ। ਪਹਿਲੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੀ, ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਉਲਾਦ ਨਾ ਹੋਈ।

30 ਫਿਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।

31 ਉਸ ਦੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਲਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ। ਇੰਝ ਹੀ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ। ਵਾਰੀ-ਵਾਰੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਬਿਨ ਔਲਾਦ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਗਏ।

32 ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਔਰਤ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਈ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ,

33 ਹੁਣ, ਪੁਨਰ ਉੱਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ?”

34 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਸਦੂਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

35 ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜੀਅ ਉੱਠਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਉਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ।

36 ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁਨਰ ਉੱਥਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਨ।

37 ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਲੋਕ ਜੀਅ ਉੱਠਣਗੇ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਚਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਝਾੜੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ‘ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਇਸਹਾਕ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ’ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ।

38 ਉਹ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਜਿਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਜੀਵਿਤ ਹਨ।”

39 ਕੁਝ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਹੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ।”

40 ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੋਂ, ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਇੰਨਾ ਨਿੱਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਸਵਾਲ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ।

41 ਕੀ ਮਸੀਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ? ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਮਸੀਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ?

42 ਜ਼ਬੂਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਊਦ ਖੁਦ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਬੈਠ’

43 ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਚੌਂਕੀ ਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਵਾਂ।’

44 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਮਸੀਹ ਨੂੰ ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ’ ਬੁਲਾਉਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ?”

45 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਖਬਰਦਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ,

46 “ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਖਬਰਦਾਰ ਰਹੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਚੋਗੇ ਪਾਕੇ ਫਿਰਨਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਲਾਮ ਲੈਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਗਲੀਆਂ ਕੁਰਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਅਵਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

47 ਉਹ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਲੁੱਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਬੀਆਂ-ਲੰਬੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਬਨਣ ਦਾ ਢੋਂਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਸਜਾ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ।”

1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,

2 And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?

3 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:

4 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?

5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?

6 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.

7 And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.

8 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

9 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.

10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.

11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.

13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.

14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?

16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?

18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

19 And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.

21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:

22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?

23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?

24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar’s.

25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.

26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.

27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,

28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.

30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.

31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.

32 Last of all the woman died also.

33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.

34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

39 Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.

40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.

41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David’s son?

42 And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

43 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

44 David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?

45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,

46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;

47 Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

1 ਪਰਤਾਵੇ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ, ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਬਾਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਏ।

2 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ? ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ? ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ?”

3 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਵਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

4 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ; ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਕੀ ਸੁਰਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ ਜਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ?”

5 ਜਾਜਕਾਂ, ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ, ਸਭ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ‘ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਖੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਫਿਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ?’

6 ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ, ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।’ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਕੇ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣਗੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਇੱਕ ਨਬੀ ਸੀ।”

7 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।”

8 ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ?”

9 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ: “ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ ਲਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਕੇ ਤੇ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

10 ਸਮਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਰੁੱਤ ਸਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਦੇਣ। ਪਰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੱਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

11 ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੁਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੱਥੀ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

12 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਇੱਕ ਤੀਜਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

13 “ਉਸ ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂ? ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਾਂਗਾ। ਇਹ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇਣਗੇ!’

14 ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, ‘ਇਹ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਦਾ ਵਾਰਸ ਹੈ, ਆਓ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ ਸਾਡਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।’

15 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। “ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਕੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ?

16 ਉਹ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਕੇ ਤੇ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।” ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਰੱਬ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ।”

17 ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਝਾਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸ ਲਿਖਤ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ: ‘ਜਿਸ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹ ਖੂੰਜੇ ਦਾ ਪੱਥਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।’

18 ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਪੱਥਰ ਤੇ ਡਿੱਗੇਗਾ ਟੁਕੜੇ-ਟੁਕੜੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਡਿੱਗੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਕੁਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

19 ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਫੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਖਬਰੇ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਗੇ?

20 ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਲ ਖੇਡੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੜਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੀ ਤਾਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਕੁਝ ਜਸੂਸ ਭੇਜੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਨਾਟਕ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਲੱਭਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੀ ਸੌਂਪ ਸੱਕਣ, ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਸੀ।

21 ਤਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਉਹ ਸਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਤਰਫ਼ਦਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਗੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ।

22 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਕੈਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਸੂਲ ਦੇਣਾ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗਲਤ?”

23 ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਮਰਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ,

24 “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਕਾ ਦਿਖਾਵੋ? ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਹੈ?” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਕੈਸਰ ਦੀ ਹੈ।”

25 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਜੋ ਕੈਸਰ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਕੈਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੋ।”

26 ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇੰਨੇ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਜਵਾਬ ਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਆਖ ਸੱਕੇ। ਉਹ ਭੀੜ ਅੱਗੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਲਤੀ ਲੱਭਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਮਰਥ ਸਨ।

27 ਕੁਝ ਸਦੂਕੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਲ ਖੇਡੀ ਕੁਝ ਸਦੂਕੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ। ਉਹ ਇਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਿ ਪੁਨਰ ਉੱਥਾਨ ਹੈ।

28 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਮਰਦ ਬਿਨ ਔਲਾਦ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਭਰਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ।

29 ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਸੱਤ ਭਰਾ ਸਨ। ਪਹਿਲੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੀ, ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਉਲਾਦ ਨਾ ਹੋਈ।

30 ਫਿਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।

31 ਉਸ ਦੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਲਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ। ਇੰਝ ਹੀ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ। ਵਾਰੀ-ਵਾਰੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਬਿਨ ਔਲਾਦ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਗਏ।

32 ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਔਰਤ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਈ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ,

33 ਹੁਣ, ਪੁਨਰ ਉੱਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ, ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ?”

34 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਸਦੂਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

35 ਪਰ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜੀਅ ਉੱਠਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਉਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ।

36 ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁਨਰ ਉੱਥਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਨ।

37 ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਲੋਕ ਜੀਅ ਉੱਠਣਗੇ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਚਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਝਾੜੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ‘ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਇਸਹਾਕ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ’ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ।

38 ਉਹ ਮਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਜਿਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਜੀਵਿਤ ਹਨ।”

39 ਕੁਝ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਹੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ।”

40 ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੋਂ, ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਇੰਨਾ ਨਿੱਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਸਵਾਲ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ।

41 ਕੀ ਮਸੀਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ? ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਮਸੀਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ?

42 ਜ਼ਬੂਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਊਦ ਖੁਦ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ: ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਬੈਠ’

43 ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੈਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਚੌਂਕੀ ਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਵਾਂ।’

44 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਮਸੀਹ ਨੂੰ ‘ਪ੍ਰਭੂ’ ਬੁਲਾਉਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ?”

45 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਖਬਰਦਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ,

46 “ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਖਬਰਦਾਰ ਰਹੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਚੋਗੇ ਪਾਕੇ ਫਿਰਨਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਲਾਮ ਲੈਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਗਲੀਆਂ ਕੁਰਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਅਵਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

47 ਉਹ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਲੁੱਟ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਬੀਆਂ-ਲੰਬੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਬਨਣ ਦਾ ਢੋਂਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਸਜਾ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ।”

1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,

2 And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?

3 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:

4 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?

5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?

6 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.

7 And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.

8 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

9 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.

10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.

11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.

13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.

14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?

16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?

18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

19 And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.

21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:

22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?

23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?

24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar’s.

25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.

26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.

27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,

28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.

30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.

31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.

32 Last of all the woman died also.

33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.

34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

39 Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.

40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.

41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David’s son?

42 And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

43 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

44 David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?

45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,

46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;

47 Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
