ਪਰ ਮਾਰਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੰਨਾ ਕੰਮ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੈਣ ਇੰਨਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਇੱਕਲਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਛੱਡ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੇ।”
