Judges 6:1
ਮਿਦਯਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਾਈ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮਿਦਯਾਨ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ।

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਨਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਿਆ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ। ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ।
ਨਹਮਿਆਹ 9:26
ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਵਗਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵਿਦ੍ਰੋਹ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਿੱਠਾ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਿਵਸਬਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਣਦੇਖਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢਿਆ ਉੱਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਮੋੜਨ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੜੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਕਾਰਜ਼ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਕਜ਼ਾૃ 2:19
ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਨਿਆਂਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋਇਆ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿੱਦੀ ਸਨ-ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਦੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਸਨ।

ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਆਲ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਤਾਰੋਥ ਦੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਪਏ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਦ ਸਮਝੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਆਲ ਵਰਗੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 28:15
ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਣ ਦੇ ਸਰਾਪ “ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ-ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ-ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਨਗੀਆਂ:
ਗਿਣਤੀ 31:1
ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਮਿਦਯਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਜੰਗ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ,
ਗਿਣਤੀ 25:15
ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮਿਦਯਾਨੀ ਔਰਤ ਮਾਰੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਾਜ਼ਬੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸੂਰ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ। ਸੂਰ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਦਯਾਨੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਸੀ।
ਅਹਬਾਰ 26:14
ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ “ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ।
