ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਖਲੋਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੋ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਪੱਥਰ ਤਲਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਣਾ। ਬਾਰਾਂ ਪਥਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਰੱਖ ਦੇਣਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਰਾਤ ਕੱਟੋ।”

ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਦਸਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਮੰਨ ਲਈ। ਉਹ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਅੱਧ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰੋਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਪੱਥਰ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਿਆਏ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਪੱਥਰ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੂੰ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਲਏ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਉੱਥੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾਇਆ।
ਯਸ਼ਵਾ 3:13
ਜਾਜਕ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਗਣੋ ਹਟ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਠਹਿਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਅੱਜ ਆਖੀਆਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਇਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ। ਇਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕੇਗਾ।”
ਅਸਤਸਨਾ 27:1
ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਪੱਥਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ 28:22
ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ਪੱਥਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਾ ਦਸਵੰਧ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”
