ਸਮਸੂਨ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਸਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਮਕਬਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਫ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਮਕਬਰਾ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਤਾਓਲ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਹੈ। ਸਮਸੂਨ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ 20 ਸਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਨਿਆਂਕਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ।

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਸ਼ਕੋਲ ਵਾਦੀ ਵੱਲ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ। ਉੱਥੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੇਲ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਟਹਿਣੀ ਤੋੜ ਲਈ। ਟਹਿਣੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਛੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਟਹਿਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਡੰਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਟੰਗ ਲਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਆਦਮੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਅਨਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਜੀਰ ਵੀ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਈ।
