ਪਰ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਭਲਾ ਇਹ ਦੱਸ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੋਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਿ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ? ਵੇਖ! ਮੰਨਣਾ ਭੇਟਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੋਤਾ ਬਨਣਾ ਭੇਡੇ ਦੀ ਚਰਬੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ।
