ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ। “ਬਾਰ-ਬਾਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਸੀ! ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਦਿਆਂ ਬਕੱ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ!

| destroy and thee, | עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ | ʿālayik | ah-LA-yeek |
| thee; I am weary | וָֽאַשְׁחִיתֵ֔ךְ | wāʾašḥîtēk | va-ash-hee-TAKE |
| with repenting. | נִלְאֵ֖יתִי | nilʾêtî | neel-A-tee |
