Jeremiah 13:13
ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੇਂਗਾ, ‘ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਤਖਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ, ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਗੋ! ਜਾਗੋ! ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ, ਉੱਠ ਪਵੋ! ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਸੀ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਹ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੀਣਾ ਪੈਣਾ ਸੀ, ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਪੀ ਲਿਆ।

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੰਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਫ਼ੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲੀ ਮੈਅ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਇਹ ਮੈਅ (ਸਜ਼ਾ) ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਡੋਲ੍ਹੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਰੀ ਕਤਰੇ ਤੱਕ ਪੀ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 60:3
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼ਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਡਿੱਗਦੇ, ਲੜਖੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 51:7
ਬਾਬਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਨਿਹਰੀ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਕੌਮ ਨੇ ਮੈਅ ਪੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਬਦਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 25:27
“ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੇਰੇ ਕਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਵੋ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਕੇ ਬਦਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਲਟੀਆਂ ਕਰੋ! ਢਹਿ ਪਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉੱਠੋ ਨਾ। ਉੱਠੋ ਨਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਭੇਜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।’
ਯਸਈਆਹ 49:26
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਜਿਸਮ ਖਾਣ ਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਖੂਨ ਮੈਅ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਮਸਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਹਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ। ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਬੰਦੇ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਣਗੇ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਪੁਰੱਖ ਨੇ ਬਚਾਇਆ।”
ਹਬਕੋਕ 2:16
“ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਪਤਾ ਚੱਲੇਗਾ। ਉਸ (ਯਹੋਵਾਹ) ਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ੜੇ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਦ ਚਖੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਢਹਿ ਪਵੇਗਾ। “ਹੇ ਪਾਪੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ! ਤੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਚਖੇਁਗਾ। ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਬਾਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 51:57
ਮੈਂ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਰਾਜਪਾਲਾਂ, ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੌਜੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਸੌਂ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਉੱਠਣਗੇ।” ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ, ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੈ।
ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 25:15
ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ, “ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੈਅ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਫ਼ੜ ਲੈ। ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਲਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
ਯਸਈਆਹ 51:21
ਗਰੀਬ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ, ਸੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ। ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੈਂ ਪਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਦਾ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੈ।
ਯਸਈਆਹ 29:9
ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਅਚਂਭਾ ਕਰੋ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਓਗੇ-ਪਰ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ। ਦੇਖੋ ਅਤੇ ਅਚਂਂਭਾ ਕਰੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਠੋਕਰ ਖਾਓਗੇ ਤੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਵੋਗੇ ਪਰ ਬੀਅਰ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
