ਪੈਦਾਇਸ਼ 50:15-23

15 And when Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.

16 And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying,

17 So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

18 And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants.

19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?

20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

22 And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father’s house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.

23 And Joseph saw Ephraim’s children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph’s knees.

15 ਭਰਾ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਤੋਂ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਹਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਮਰਿਆ, ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਫ਼ਿਕਰਮੰਦ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਉਹ ਇਸ ਗੱਲੋਂ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ, ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਬਾਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਾਰਣ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕਾਰਣ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।”

16 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜਿਆ: “ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ।
And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying,

17 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ‘ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੈੜੇ ਕਾਰਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ।’ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੁਣ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਉਹਾਂ ਭੈੜੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ, ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਾਂ।” ਇਸ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਨੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਰੋ ਪਿਆ।
So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

18 ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਝੁਕ ਕੇ ਸਲਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਹੋਵਾਂਗੇ।”
And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants.

19 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਭੈਭੀਤ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੋ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਾਈਂ ਸੰਭਵ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕੀ ਹੈ?
And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?

20 ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਬੁਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਵਿਉਂਤ ਮੇਰੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਹੈ!
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

21 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੋ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।” ਜੋ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

22 ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਜਦੋਂ 110 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father’s house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.

23 ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਤਰੇ ਹੋਏ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ, ਮਾਕੀਰ। ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਮਾਕੀਰ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣ ਤੱਕ ਜੀਵਿਆ।
