1 ਆਦਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਇਹ ਆਦਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਜਨਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਕਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ।
2 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਰ ਤੇ ਮਾਦਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਅਤੇ ਓਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ “ਆਦਮ” ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
3 ਜਦੋਂ ਆਦਮ 130 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਅਕਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜੋ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਆਦਮ ਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੇਥ ਧਰਿਆ।
4 ਸੇਥ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਆਦਮ 800 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਦਮ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
5 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮ ਕੁੱਲ 930 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
6 ਜਦੋਂ ਸੇਥ 105 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ ਹੋਏਆ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਅਨੋਸ਼ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
7 ਅਨੋਸ਼ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸੇਥ 807 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
8 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੇਥ ਕੁੱਲ 912 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
9 ਜਦੋਂ ਅਨੋਸ਼ 90 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕੇਨਾਨ ਸੀ,
10 ਕੇਨਾਨ ਦੇ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਨੋਸ਼ 815 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
11 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਨੋਸ਼ ਕੁੱਲ 905 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
12 ਜਦੋਂ ਕੇਨਾਨ 70 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਮਹਲਲੇਲ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
13 ਮਹਲਲੇਲ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਕੇਨਾਨ 840 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੇਨਾਨ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
14 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੇਨਾਨ ਕੁੱਲ 910 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
15 ਜਦੋਂ ਮਹਲਲੇਲ 65 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਯਰਦ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
16 ਯਰਦ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮਹਲਲੇਲ 830 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
17 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਹਲਲੇਲ ਕੁੱਲ 895 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
18 ਜਦੋਂ ਯਰਦ 162 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਹਨੋਕ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਨਮਿਆ।
19 ਹਨੋਕ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਯਰਦ 800 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
20 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਰਦ ਕੁੱਲ 962 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
21 ਜਦੋਂ ਹਨੋਕ 65 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਮਥੂਸਲਹ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਨਮਿਆ।
22 ਮਥੂਸਲਹ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਹਨੋਕ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੁਰਦਿਆਂ 300 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਿਤਾਏ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
23 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, ਹਨੋਕ ਕੁੱਲ 365 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ।
24 ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਹਨੋਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਹਨੋਕ ਗਾਇਬ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਠਾ ਲਿਆ।
25 ਜਦੋਂ ਮਥੂਸਲਹ 187 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਲਾਮਕ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਨਮਿਆ।
26 ਲਾਮਕ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮਥੂਸਲਹ 782 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
27 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਥੂਸਲਹ ਕੁੱਲ 969 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
28 ਜਦੋਂ ਲਾਮਕ 182 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਨਮਿਆ।
29 ਲਾਮਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨੂਹ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਲਾਮਕ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਕਰੜੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਨੂਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”
30 ਨੂਹ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲਾਮਕ 595 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
31 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਾਮਕ ਕੁੱਲ 777 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
32 ਜਦੋਂ ਨੂਹ 500 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਸ਼ੇਮ, ਹਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਫ਼ਥ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਨਮੇ।

And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:
26 ਲਾਮਕ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮਥੂਸਲਹ 782 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:
27 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਥੂਸਲਹ ਕੁੱਲ 969 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
28 ਜਦੋਂ ਲਾਮਕ 182 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਨਮਿਆ।
And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
29 ਲਾਮਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨੂਹ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਲਾਮਕ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਕਰੜੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਨੂਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”
And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.
30 ਨੂਹ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲਾਮਕ 595 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਏ।
And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:
31 ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਾਮਕ ਕੁੱਲ 777 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ; ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.
32 ਜਦੋਂ ਨੂਹ 500 ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਸ਼ੇਮ, ਹਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਫ਼ਥ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਨਮੇ।
And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
