ਖ਼ਰੋਜ 6
1 ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਖੇਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਰਤਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਇੰਨਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”
2 ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ।
3 ਮੈਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ, ਇਸਹਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਲ ਸ਼ੱਦਾਈ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ, ਯਾਹਵੇਹ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।
4 ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
5 ਹੁਣ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਕਾਂ ਸੁਣ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮਿਸਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਾਲੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਚੇਤੇ ਹੈ।
6 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਮਿਸਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਪਾਏ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੁਣ ਮਿਸਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੋਂਗੇ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਰਤਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
7 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।
8 ਮੈਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ, ਇਸਹਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨਾਲ ਮਹਾਨ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੱਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ।’”
9 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਇਕਰਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨ ਦਾ ਸਬਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੜੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
10 ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ,
11 “ਜਾਹ, ਜਾਕੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣ ਦੇਵੇ।”
12 ਪਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੱਕੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ। ਮੇਰੇ ਕਥਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਅਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।”
13 ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਤੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜਾਕੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਕੇ ਵੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ, ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ।
14 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਇਹ ਹਨ: ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦੇ ਚਾਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਸਨ, ਹਨੋਕ, ਫ਼ਲੂ, ਹਸਰੋਨ, ਅਤੇ ਕਰਮੀ।
15 ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ, ਯਮੂਏਲ, ਯਾਮੀਨ, ਓਹਦ, ਯਾਕੀਨ, ਸੋਹਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ। (ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਔਰਤ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ।)
16 ਲੇਵੀ 137 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ, ਗੇਰਸ਼ੋਨ, ਕਹਾਥ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਾਰੀ।
17 ਗੇਰਸ਼ੋਨ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ, ਲਿਬਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਮਈ।
18 ਕਹਾਥ 133 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਕਹਾਥ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਅਮਰਾਮ, ਯਿਸਹਾਰ, ਹਬਰੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਜ਼ੀਏਲ।
19 ਮਰਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਮਹਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸ਼ੀ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਲੇਵੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਨ।
20 ਅਮਰਾਮ 137 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਜੀਵਿਆ। ਅਮਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਯੋਕਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾਇਆ। ਅਮਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਕਬਦ ਨੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
21 ਯਿਸਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਕੋਰਹ, ਨਫ਼ਗ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਕਰੀ।
22 ਉਜ਼ੀਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਮੀਸ਼ਾਏਲ, ਅਲਸਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਤਰੀ।
23 ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੇ ਅਲੀਸਬਾ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾਇਆ। (ਅਲੀਸ਼ਬਾ ਅਮੀਨਾਦਾਬ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਨਹਸੋਨ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਸੀ।) ਹਾਰੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਬਾ ਨੇ ਨਾਦਾਬ ਅਬੀਹੂ, ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਈਥਾਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
24 ਕੋਰਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਕੋਰਾਹੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖੇ ਸਨ; ਅੱਸੀਰ, ਅਲਕਾਨਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਬੀਅਸਾਫ਼।
25 ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੇ ਫ਼ੂਟੀਏਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾਇਆ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫ਼ੀਨਹਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਲੇਵੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਨ।
26 ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੋਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਚੱਲੋ।”
27 ਹਾਰੂਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣ ਦੇਵੇ।
28 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੱਲ ਦੁਹਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ।
29 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ। ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਗੱਲ ਆਖੀ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ।”
30 ਪਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਬਿਨ ਅੜਕਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ।”
1 Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.
2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord:
3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.
5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:
7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the Lord.
9 And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.
10 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
11 Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.
12 And Moses spake before the Lord, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?
13 And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
14 These be the heads of their fathers’ houses: The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel; Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi: these be the families of Reuben.
15 And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman: these are the families of Simeon.
16 And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi were an hundred thirty and seven years.
17 The sons of Gershon; Libni, and Shimi, according to their families.
18 And the sons of Kohath; Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath were an hundred thirty and three years.
19 And the sons of Merari; Mahali and Mushi: these are the families of Levi according to their generations.
20 And Amram took him Jochebed his father’s sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years.
21 And the sons of Izhar; Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.
22 And the sons of Uzziel; Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Zithri.
23 And Aaron took him Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to wife; and she bare him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
24 And the sons of Korah; Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph: these are the families of the Korhites.
25 And Eleazar Aaron’s son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bare him Phinehas: these are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their families.
26 These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the Lord said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies.
27 These are they which spake to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron.
28 And it came to pass on the day when the Lord spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt,
29 That the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, I am the Lord: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee.
30 And Moses said before the Lord, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?
1 And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines.
2 And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.
3 Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
4 But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the Lord, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.
5 Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.
6 And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.
7 And he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well.
8 And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion.
9 And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion.
10 So his father went down unto the woman: and Samson made there a feast; for so used the young men to do.
11 And it came to pass, when they saw him, that they brought thirty companions to be with him.
12 And Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments:
13 But if ye cannot declare it me, then shall ye give me thirty sheets and thirty change of garments. And they said unto him, Put forth thy riddle, that we may hear it.
14 And he said unto them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days expound the riddle.
15 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson’s wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father’s house with fire: have ye called us to take that we have? is it not so?
16 And Samson’s wife wept before him, and said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. And he said unto her, Behold, I have not told it my father nor my mother, and shall I tell it thee?
17 And she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she lay sore upon him: and she told the riddle to the children of her people.
18 And the men of the city said unto him on the seventh day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey? and what is stronger than a lion? And he said unto them, If ye had not plowed with my heifer, ye had not found out my riddle.
19 And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon, and slew thirty men of them, and took their spoil, and gave change of garments unto them which expounded the riddle. And his anger was kindled, and he went up to his father’s house.
20 But Samson’s wife was given to his companion, whom he had used as his friend.
