ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਮਿਦਯਾਨ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਏਡੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ, ਸਾਡੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਗਊ ਕਿਸੇ ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਚਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।” ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿੱਪੋਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਾਲਾਕ ਮੋਆਬ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ।

ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਅਮਸਾਲ 27:4
ਗੁੱਸਾ ਜਾਲਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਈਰਖਾ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੌਣ ਖਲੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਇੰਨੀ ਸਖਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਿਉਂ? ਫੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਸੋਚਿਆ, “ਲੋਕ ਇੰਨੀ ਸਖਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ?” ਮੈਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਈਰਖਾਲੂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਕਿ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਹੋਵੇ। ਇਹ ਵੀ ਅਰਬਹੀਣ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਹਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੈ।
ਤੀਤੁਸ 3:3
ਬੀਤੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਮੂਰਖ ਸਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਸਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਗਲਤ ਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਸਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਬਦੀ ਭਰਿਆ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀ ਰਹੇ ਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਈਰਖਾਲੂ ਸਾਂ। ਲੋਕ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਾਂ।
ਯਾਕੂਬ 4:5
ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੋਥੀ ਅਰਥਹੀਣ ਹੈ? ਪੋਥੀ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ, “ਉਹ ਆਤਮਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।”
ਅੱਯੂਬ 5:2
ਇੱਕ ਮੂਰਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਇੱਕ ਖੁਦਗਰਜ਼ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਮਨੋਭਾਵ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਗੇ।
