ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਇੱਕ ਪੰਥ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਸਦੂਕੀ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ, ਬਹੁਤ ਈਰਖਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ।
