ਮਲਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਟਕਰਾ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚਾਰ ਲੰਗਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟੇ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕੁਝ ਮਲਾਹ ਤਾਂ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੀ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਸਨ।
