ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਚੀਆਂ ਪਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮਥਿਯਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਲਈ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ, “ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ! ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ! ਤੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ? ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਰੀਮ ਪਾ ਜੇਕਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਤੁੰਮੀਮ ਪਾ।” ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਫ਼ੜੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਬਚ ਗਏ।

ਗੁਣਾ ਸੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਮੁਖੀ ਥਾਪਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਜਕ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਈਥਾਮਾਰ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਨ।

ਚੰਗੀ ਸੂਝ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਝਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ, ਜਦ ਕਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਬੇਵਕੂਫ਼ੀ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਤੂਫ਼ਾਨ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ? ਤਦ ਆਦਮੀ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਗੁਣੇ ਸੁੱਟਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।” ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਣੇ ਪਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਣਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਸੀ।

ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਤਦ ਪਤਰਸ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਖੜੋ ਕੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ, “ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਭਰਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਓ, ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
